You may link to threads on the

trainingwings community for your first person samples, as long as the thread in question is no older than three months. The thread or post must still have at least ten lines of dialog from your character to be considered.

If a mod does not accept your app right away, please be patient. We all have our own personal and busy lives to attend to, and there might be a period of time when it might take us days to get to the applications. There is also the possibility that we do not know the canon you are applying for, and we need time to study it. So please be patient and we will work as fast as we can to get you an answer. If it has been a week with no word, please feel free to message Akai (guynophobic), Masamune (masamune3x), or Emily (spark memories) on AIM, or email them at their respective email addresses found in the

luceti profile page.

Note: Applications are not always processed in the order they are received, due to the way they are divvied up between the moderators. If your application has been skipped, do not fret. Another mod will be getting to it soon enough. Additionally, you now have ONE WEEK to complete revision requests and Q&A's. You will be reminded of this deadline three days before it's up. After that week has passed, your application will no longer be considered for the current round. We apologize, but please be patient with us!

A note for applying here on Dreamwidth: Due to the character count limit being higher on DW, it might be tempting to toss the whole thing in one comment and leave it. However, we ask that you split the application up into at least two comments- the first containing your player information and (if you want) basic character info, the rest in another comment (or more, if you wish). This is to avoid having entire applications spanning the page and making it huge.

Splitting them up will make it easier for mods to process the applications. Thank you!

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

Personality: Utena is a kind, courageous, friendly girl who is easily approachable. Once someone has Utena as their friend, they can expect a really good one. She is more than willing to protect the people she cares about when needed, and she is extremely loyal. She's also more than willing to listen to her friends if they need someone to talk to about their problems.

She's a tomboy, shown in her lack of interest in more traditional feminine activities, participating in sports and proudly wearing a boy's uniform. Despite the previously lack of interest in traditional feminine activities, she also seems to maintain traits that can be seen as "feminine" on the surface, shown in the first episode when she claims that the reason she doesn't want to join the school's basketball team is because she doesn't want to be covered in boy sweat.

She's honest, even when the truth would do her more harm than good, and has a great dislike for liars. She also is not fond of men who are overly clingy and she isn't too interested in having a boyfriend (or a girlfriend, shown early in the series when she protests against being "engaged" to Anthy Himemiya, the Rose Bride) due to her devotion to her prince.

A lot of Utena's personality is molded around her desire to be like the prince she was saved by in her childhood, especially her need to protect. It's her want to emulate the prince that fuels her determination, and when this determination is at its best, it makes Utena a damn near unstoppable force, unwilling to back down.

However, she can also be the exact opposite at her lowest. When Utena experiences something that greatly shakes her, it leaves her in a complete mess and causes her to want to give up. It usually takes someone snapping her back to reality or giving her a reason to keep fighting to drag her back to where she needs to be, but once she's back on solid ground, she's stronger than ever.

Utena is naive to an extreme fault, and it's taken advantage of quite often by several individuals. She has a difficulty seeing the entire picture, or even a bit of what's truly going on. She suffers from viewing the world in (no pun intended) rose-tinted glasses and often sees things in black and white when the canvas before her is more in shades of gray. Her view of the world is incredibly childish, and due to this, she makes several mistakes she could have otherwise avoided.

She also shows severe signs of hypocrisy in many ways. While Mikage definitely made his point in a very bad way, he had a point that Utena wishes to perserve the childhood memory of the prince she loves so dearly. Utena denies this, however, and believes that Mikage is nothing but a manipulator, a villain. Despite the fact that she does, she refuses to have anything in common with someone who she believes hurt people.
