Applications
PLEASE USE THE NEW APPLICATION POST!
Please be aware that apps are only open from the 1st (12:00 AM Eastern Standard Time) to the 7th (11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time) of any given month. This means that as of 12:01 AM, the 1st, apps are open and that as of 11:59 PM the 7th, they are closed. If you post an application after that time, it will be deleted and ignored. Please pay attention to the application times and the status at the top of this page!
PLEASE READ THE RULES BEFORE APPLYING! Especially the last few, as they establish what characters can or cannot be accepted.
If you want to canon-update your character, you must re-apply for said character with the relevant changes (history, personality, strengths and weaknesses, etc). For re-apps and canon updates, samples must be rewritten; we do not accept recycled samples.
The old application posts can be found on Livejournal, using the Applications tag.
Here's the application. Copy and paste the text box info into a comment and fill it out. You must apply with the following format, otherwise your application will not be accepted.

HERE is a word-counting tool to check your 3rd person samples.
If a mod does not accept your app right away, please be patient. We all have our own personal and busy lives to attend to, and there might be a period of time when it might take us days to get to the applications. There is also the possibility that we do not know the canon you are applying for, and we need time to study it. So please be patient and we will work as fast as we can to get you an answer. If it has been a week with no word, please feel free to message Akai (guynophobic), Masamune (masamune3x), or Emily (spark memories) on AIM, or email them at their respective email addresses found in the

Note: Applications are not always processed in the order they are received, due to the way they are divvied up between the moderators. If your application has been skipped, do not fret. Another mod will be getting to it soon enough. Additionally, you now have ONE WEEK to complete revision requests and Q&A's. You will be reminded of this deadline three days before it's up. After that week has passed, your application will no longer be considered for the current round. We apologize, but please be patient with us!
A note for applying here on Dreamwidth: Due to the character count limit being higher on DW, it might be tempting to toss the whole thing in one comment and leave it. However, we ask that you split the application up into at least two comments- the first containing your player information and (if you want) basic character info, the rest in another comment (or more, if you wish). This is to avoid having entire applications spanning the page and making it huge.
Splitting them up will make it easier for mods to process the applications. Thank you!
Applejack | MLP: FiM | Pt 2
is a terrible liarends up apologizing profusely for it once she spills the truth. This doesn't mean she isn't stubborn as a mule (pointed out in one episode much to the bemusement of a nearby mule), but AJ is normally a very honest and trustworthy pony. Her relationship with her family is very close and they mean the world to her. She lives with her Granny Smith, big brother Big Macintosh, and little sister Apple Bloom, and constantly looks out for all three. One of her biggest concerns is earning enough money to keep the family farm booming, even going so far as to try to pull in an entire apple harvest by herself when Big Mac was injured once. This led to days, if not a couple weeks, with little to no sleep, which she didn't begrudge anyone.
Applejack is also a very helpful pony, and loves to lend a hoof to anyone in need. Even when she was running nearly on empty from the above lack of sleep, she kept pushing herself to help out her friends. She's earned recognition from the town a few times for always being there for others. Despite the recognition, though, she never lets it go to her head, and is normally very humble.
But she's still very competitive. It tends to come out against Rainbow Dash, who likes to compete against AJ for the challenge involved. AJ always plays fair... that is, until the other pony starts to cheat, in which case she'll toss caution and integrity to the winds and stoop to their level.
Hard-working, reliable, honest, and very family-oriented, Applejack is the kind of pony that makes friends with nearly everyone and takes in just about anypony as family (see her introduction to Twilight Sparkle for that, or Sweetie Belle adopting her as her big sister). She can be a little set in her ways sometimes - stubbornly staying on the side of the Appleloosans rather than listening to the buffalo's complaints, for example - but if shown reason, she'll submit to the greater good.
Strengths:
Physical: AJ is very, very strong physically. She may be only an earth pony, but years of applebucking and farm work have made her very sturdy and strong. Her legs are so strong that she can stop a speeding carriage from careening downhill just by planting her forelegs and holding her hind hooves out to catch it. She manages to harvest half of her massive farm's apples on her own while running on a lack of sleep as well. She and Rainbow Dash even get into an Iron Pony competition at one point, which AJ would have won easily if Rainbow hadn't resorted to using her wings in challenges to get an advantage. She can hold her own very well. Very fast and very strong, as well as agile, shown in her prowess in various rodeo competitions.
Also, she is a cartoon pony and is thus very durable. She jumps off an incredibly high platform and right into the ground several times in a row in one episode and doesn't injure anything.
Mental: While she may not be the most booksmart pony in Equestria, Applejack has a good and sound mind. She's good at spotting trouble and when there isn't any danger -- for example, while she cowers from Princess Luna during the Nightmare Night festival, she recovers quickly once Twilight Sparkle explains what's going on. She's also a great businesspony, and is able to keep her head even when things start to go absolutely crazy (like when her little sister bet the family farm against the Flim Flam brothers).
Emotional: Very sure of herself and difficult to ruffle up to a point where she loses control of her emotions. She realizes when she's getting worked up and is normally able to calm herself back down. Even when furious at the thought that Rainbow Dash was cheating at a race between them once, she still cooled down as soon as it was pointed out that she tripped on a rock and not Rainbow's hoof. She also has no problem with compromising for friends or family, and even gives Rarity advice on how to be a good big sister.
Weaknesses:
Physical: Just a regular earth pony. Compared to her unicorn and pegasus friends, that's a big disadvantage. Also, if she's running on zero sleep, she becomes a total spaz and walks into things/stumbles around/falls off platforms/knocks things over/generally wreaks havoc.
Mental: As mentioned before, she's not the brightest. When her brother presents her with the simple equation of "One pony plus hundreds of trees just doesn't add up" during her attempted solo apple harvest, AJ tells him not to use his fancy mathematics to muddy up the issue. She's got a lot of common sense, but book learning is not her strong point.
Emotional: Once she's worked up, it's hard to get her calmed down completely. When Rarity pushes her buttons during Twilight Sparkle's sleepover, for example, Applejack stays irritated for almost the entire night. She also hates to admit when she's lost, as shown in The Last Roundup when she refuses to come home for fear of admitting that she lost at the rodeo competitions, and how she refuses any help with the apple harvest until she's all but collapsing from exhaustion.
