PLEASE USE THE NEW APPLICATION POST!
Please be aware that apps are only open from the 1st (12:00 AM Eastern Standard Time) to the 7th (11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time) of any given month. This means that as of 12:01 AM, the 1st, apps are open and that as of 11:59 PM the 7th, they are closed. If you post an application after that time, it will be deleted and ignored. Please pay attention to the application times and the status at the top of this page!
PLEASE READ THE RULES BEFORE APPLYING! Especially the last few, as they establish what characters can or cannot be accepted.
If you want to canon-update your character, you must re-apply for said character with the relevant changes (history, personality, strengths and weaknesses, etc). For re-apps and canon updates, samples must be rewritten; we do not accept recycled samples.

You may link to threads on the
trainingwings community for your first person samples, as long as the thread in question is no older than three months. The thread or post must still have at least ten lines of dialog from your character to be considered. HERE is a word-counting tool to check your 3rd person samples.
If a mod does not accept your app right away, please be patient. We all have our own personal and busy lives to attend to, and there might be a period of time when it might take us days to get to the applications. There is also the possibility that we do not know the canon you are applying for, and we need time to study it. So please be patient and we will work as fast as we can to get you an answer. If it has been a week with no word, please feel free to message Akai (guynophobic), Masamune (masamune3x), or Emily (spark memories) on AIM, or email them at their respective email addresses found in the
luceti profile page.Note: Applications are not always processed in the order they are received, due to the way they are divvied up between the moderators. If your application has been skipped, do not fret. Another mod will be getting to it soon enough. Additionally, you now have ONE WEEK to complete revision requests and Q&A's. You will be reminded of this deadline three days before it's up. After that week has passed, your application will no longer be considered for the current round. We apologize, but please be patient with us!
A note for applying here on Dreamwidth: Due to the character count limit being higher on DW, it might be tempting to toss the whole thing in one comment and leave it. However, we ask that you split the application up into at least two comments- the first containing your player information and (if you want) basic character info, the rest in another comment (or more, if you wish). This is to avoid having entire applications spanning the page and making it huge.
Splitting them up will make it easier for mods to process the applications. Thank you!

“Disgusting.” There was nothing to be done about it. Kid turned this way and that, but even when he hid his wings inside his jacket, he knew. Those stripes. Those horrible stripes had followed him to his very wings. “The indignity. It’s disgraceful.”
There was no hope for it. He was going to have to pluck the white feathers out. The book had warned that there would be pain – pain was acceptable. If he had any chance of achieving symmetry and abolishing this abomination that haunted him everywhere, he could bare it. And so, agonizingly, Kid began plucking them out. One. By. One.
The pain, of course, was excruciating. But Kid grit his teeth and continued until he noticed... his spiritual perception also seemed to be weakening. "Damnit.” Did he dare continue to weaken himself when his primary responsibility was to return home and decide what to do with the last magical tool? “Damnit.” He slumps down to the floor in weakness and disgust. He was alone – as he deserved to be. “A failure of a death god, that’s what I am. Even this place knows that I’m disgusting. It mocks me with these – stripes. And I can’t be rid of them without crippling myself further. Without Liz and Patty here, I’m halfway useless anyway. I can’t even fly up to the top of this ‘barrier’ without Beelzebub. I’m unworthy to be called his son. Hideous.”
He remains slumped on the floor, muttering recriminations against himself for hours… until something catches the corner of his eye. A wind has blown the curtain to an eighty-five degree angle. “Awful. It should be at ninety degrees.” And – as if to mock him further – he then notices that one of the picture frames on the wall has slanted to be at least five degrees up from being parallel.
Focusing on this, Kid builds his anger and indignation until he explodes from the ground in a flurry of energy. At least these were things he could fix. The wings – bah – the wings would be like his hair. It’s horrible, hideous, but he just had to overcome it. He had to prove he was worthy, despite the obvious external imbalance. He knew who he was – he just had to show everyone else too.
He would strengthen his soul.

Finding the right set of matching weapons was extremely time-consuming. It's rare to find two weapons who will work together and compliment each other as well as Liz and Patty, and I refused to settle for anything less than a matching set.
2. Name the most important emotion, in your opinion, and explain why you made your choice.
That is a faulty question. There are no emotions that are more important than any other. The most important factor isn't an emotion, it's will. Courage, if you would have it by another name.
3. Describe your most beloved memory.
I think that's rather personal.
4. How do you think you perform in a crisis?
...that depends. As a death god and a student of the Academy, I am of course well-trained and capable in a fight. There are moments, however, when I let myself down. I can become... distracted. Fortunately, I've chosen my partners very well. With them there to help keep me on track, I am reliable and competent.
5. What is your biggest flaw?
My biggest flaw remains my inability to keep all things in perfect harmony. Try as I might, the challenge still alludes me. The failure of which is evident even in my [slight quavering, but he pushes on] appearance.
6. What is the most beautiful thing in the whole world? Don't say symmetry. I want specificity!
What it is that you want is completely irrelevant to the truth. If you ask a question and then exclude the correct answer, you are clearly after something else. You shouldn't be so hasty to dismiss symmetry because it is the obvious answer. Symmetry is much more than outward physical beauty and conformity, it is the balance of good and evil. Symmetry is order - law, if you will. It is the one thing in which everything in nature must conform. It is the ideal, the answer in a world of chaos. It is... [and his eyes go shiny in one remembered moment] absolutely beautiful.
