Please be aware that apps are only open from the 1st (12:00 AM Eastern Standard Time) to the 7th (11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time) of any given month. You may link to threads on the
trainingwings community for your first person samples, as long as the thread in question is no older than three months. The thread or post must still have at least ten lines of dialog from your character to be considered. HERE is a word-counting tool to check your 3rd person samples.
If a mod does not accept your app right away, please be patient. We all have our own personal and busy lives to attend to, and there might be a period of time when it might take us days to get to the applications. There is also the possibility that we do not know the canon you are applying for, and we need time to study it. So please be patient and we will work as fast as we can to get you an answer. A note for applying here on Dreamwidth: Due to the character count limit being higher on DW, it might be tempting to toss the whole thing in one comment and leave it. However, we ask that you split the application up into at least two comments- the first containing your player information and (if you want) basic character info, the rest in another comment (or more, if you wish). This is to avoid having entire applications spanning the page and making it huge.

His hard exterior and bad/smart mouth gets him into trouble at times, maybe into fights that he doesn't really want to get into/get involved with. But he's actually a caring (and honestly blunt) person who cares about what's close to him. In fact, throughout the school year he spent most his days helping his friends out with whatever they need, and usually does his best to drive it into a solution which works for the better. Nagisa has once asked him why he was helping her, in which he replied that he was just bored and had nothing better to do. As time goes, his friends learn to understand how Tomoya is like. He'll give off that he's a mean person, but once you get to know him, his heart is 10x larger than what you expected it to be--if you even assumed he had one to begin with.
As others get closer to Tomoya, they may notice that he speaks sarcasm very fluently and will not mind using it every now and again. This may piss people off depending on how they are, and if they do decide to confront him about it, he'll either reply back with the sarcasm still ringing in his voice, or just apologize for it. His sarcasm can also mistakenly be taken seriously, which also may get him into situations he'd rather not get himself into. It can also get the person he's conversing with to be ultimately confused as to if he's being completely serious or just messing around. Tomoya then has the cards in his hand to where he can choose if he was or not--even if he was originally being serious, he can completely change his mind to say he was only kidding. This might confuse others, but most will shrug it off and not delve into it any longer.

Tomoya wasn't always like this. During a talk he had with Tomoyo Sakagami, she had asked what he thinks keeps people from "going wild" or rebel. He replies with talents, since if you have talents you in turn have a clear image of what you what to do in life. She replies back to that rebutting what if you can't or don't have a talent. He gives the answer, "love." Tomoyo seems okay with that answer, and she tells him the answer she found was "family," since when there's family, one could control oneself. Tomoya isn't pleased with this answer; when he replies it's implied that he's now taking this conversation to a personal level, now asking in a hypothetical sense, "what if it's because of the family that causes one to rebel?" Tomoya has had rough family issues. When his mother Atsuko died in a car accident when he was younger, Tomoya lived with his father Naoyuki. They've always argued; it was consistant. When Tomoya was 14, he got into a fight with his dad, injuring his right arm to the point where he can no longer lift it up higher than his shoulder. Ever since then, he has set his distances with his dad, defining why he had taken the literal sense with his talk with Sakagami. His family essentially broke everything he had enjoyed doing--he used to play basketball and was one of the best players at the school, but since his arm injury, he had to quit the basketball club. He learned to dislike clubs, and as such, chose to rebel authorities, and made him who he is today.
Strengths:
Physical: Tomoya is no super hero. He's no demon, and he doesn't have anything inside of him that'll give him superhuman strengths or powers. He's a normal human being with normal human skills. It is shown, however, when he gets into fights that he’s very tough, and can manage to take his opponent’s attacks and still stand up and fight against them—let it be complete rushdown or a fierce counter attack.
Mental: He’s smart, but would be smarter if he ever decided to study or pay any attention in classes. Although he’s average at book smart, he has his street smarts down pat, and knows from right and wrong. Back in his second year, he was forming a prank with Sunohara for the first year students. It was a huge papier-mâché ball with a string attached to it, making so any gullible first year student who pulled on it will get hit with a pan. Ironically, the third year Nagisa Furukawa fell for it. Along with the pan was a sheet of paper, with a message to instill confidence for first years. As he knows what’s correct and what’s incorrect, he sometimes ignores this and does things he knows would be wrong, but he’ll accept any punishment that’ll come from it. He is also very observant and can piece together situations by only the clues he’s just been given—let it be by overhearing conversations or noticing a reoccurring pattern.
Emotional: His poker face is immense. He can say and do the most abnormal things with the straightest face possible. He’s very good at hiding his emotions too, as not exactly anyone can tell if he’s happy or dead on depressed unless he shows it clearly. However, when Tomoya compliments someone, he means it. He’s not one to flatter another and always speaks his mind.

Physical: No matter how tough he looks and is, no matter how persistent he may be, he’s still just a human. He’s average in muscles, and he can hold himself up in a fight, but give him a run for his money with physical blows, and—as the normal human being should—he’ll be out cold, or at least beyond exhaustion.
Mental: He cannot stand people meeting his father or having anything to do with his father. He also can’t stand talking about it. Pretty much anything to do with his dad, he wants nothing apart of it. He’s very protective and mysterious about his past. He’s also very protective of his friends and anything dear to him, especially a love interest. In fact, during Yukine’s arc, Tomoya had snapped during the gang fight when Yukine had to dress up like her brother, saying that that was only way to have stopped them from fighting. He also stopped someone from taking his friend Nagisa to the school infirmary, even though that someone was the one who injured her. Tomoya didn’t want him to touch her, to which then he offered to take her instead.
Emotional: This man is not a believer of “men don’t cry.” When the time comes to tears, he won’t try to hold it in. He’ll let all the tears fall out—there’s no shame in it right? He also has a habit of keeping a lot of things to himself, especially when it doesn’t concern anyone but himself.

First Person: Q&A, please.
Third Person: Movement. Groaning. The typical movement and reaction for ones having a tough time sleeping. He really doesn’t want to get up, but for some reason he can’t seem to go back to sleep properly. Suspecting that Tomoyo is trying to wake him up, Tomoya turns to his side, thinking that his back had been turned to her.
Although, him turning didn’t seem to--
...Wait. This...happened already once, didn't it? He gets the nagging feeling of deja vu. Instantly, he gets up. A shot of pain shifts through his body, earning him a chill down his spine. But, he's felt this before, hasn't he? He doesn't want to know. He doesn't want to look. For a split second, he thought about just going back to sleep in hopes of waking up from this nightmare.
They're there, aren't they? But what's there? Fooling yourself won't get you anywhere, right? Just look, right? There's no harm in knowing the truth, right?!
You've gotta be kidding...
At least the color's different. Scattered about his back, a pair of average white wings. Maybe average isn't the correct word for this situation, but you think white when you think wing color. It was a bit of a relief to him to have something abnormal...normal. Nevertheless, a sigh. No doubt about it; he's returned. And no doubt about it, he's not happy with it.
"...Well, no point in sitting around here." If he recalls, his clothes are supposed to be in that one shop. Before heading out, he nearly forgot about the one thing that's needed here--the journal. He picks it up and stares. He never actually knew how these things worked, but he knows how important it is. He opens it up and looks into it, trying to get himself caught up with this place. He was given a guide before, so now’s a better time than ever to give it a looksee.
...He just can’t get a break, can he?
