You may link to threads on the

trainingwings community for your first person samples, as long as the thread in question is no older than three months. The thread or post must still have at least ten lines of dialog from your character to be considered.

If a mod does not accept your app right away, please be patient. We all have our own personal and busy lives to attend to, and there might be a period of time when it might take us days to get to the applications. There is also the possibility that we do not know the canon you are applying for, and we need time to study it. So please be patient and we will work as fast as we can to get you an answer. If it has been a week with no word, please feel free to message Akai (guynophobic), Masamune (masamune3x), or Emily (spark memories) on AIM, or email them at their respective email addresses found in the

luceti profile page.

Note: Applications are not always processed in the order they are received, due to the way they are divvied up between the moderators. If your application has been skipped, do not fret. Another mod will be getting to it soon enough. Additionally, you now have ONE WEEK to complete revision requests and Q&A's. You will be reminded of this deadline three days before it's up. After that week has passed, your application will no longer be considered for the current round. We apologize, but please be patient with us!

A note for applying here on Dreamwidth: Due to the character count limit being higher on DW, it might be tempting to toss the whole thing in one comment and leave it. However, we ask that you split the application up into at least two comments- the first containing your player information and (if you want) basic character info, the rest in another comment (or more, if you wish). This is to avoid having entire applications spanning the page and making it huge.

Splitting them up will make it easier for mods to process the applications. Thank you!

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

Strengths:
✯She has very good calligraphy skills. (Novel, according to Hinata.)
✯She knows twin-blade sword style. (Though it's only used in the manga with a broadsword and a katana, she prefers knives later in the anime.)
✯She somehow knows how to make a propulsion device to fire people into the ceiling. (Anime, episode 5.)
✯She is very good at picking things up quickly. (Ex: Atomic restructuring, she managed to figure it out a lot more quickly than Hinata and Ooyama. She says at one point that she knows how to do something "in her head" which could imply that she either had practice in a safe situation and hadn't applied it to real battle yet.)
✯She is recognized as a good leader, though she doesn't necessarily agree with this all the time. (Various points throughout manga, novel, and anime.)
✯High tolerance for pain. (She gets hurt a lot in all forms of media and is good at handling it. At one point while fighting the first appearing Angel clone, Yuri continually takes hits without guarding herself while the others get their weapons out.)
✯She is capable of using the following weapons with proficiency and speed: [Manga/Novel] Katana, Broadsword, Bow/Arrows, unknown hand gun type, [Anime] Hand Grenade, Beretta 92 pistol, retractable knife, TDI KRISS Super V Vector, Cheytac M200, CQB-R. (Given that her first use of a gun is in the manga, it's likely that she practices vigorously on her own time instead of lazing around between missions.)
✯Atomic Restructuring. (Limited to what she has a good memory of. She can make things like pinwheels and.. propulsion engines for god knows what reason. Also limited by her first listed weakness. Her use of the ability only appears in the manga and novel, as it is obvious that she leaves most of it to Guild in the anime. Probably because it takes so long to do.)
✯Rapid healing/can't get sick/can't die. Because she's already dead, so she just "gets over it" really quickly. Minor injuries heal really fast, major ones take longer but no more than a day. (All.)

Weaknesses:
Personality Weaknesses
✯Patience. She has none.
✯Reckless. She knows she can't die, so she doesn't hesitate to make moves that would end in herself getting hurt.
✯Intelligence. While she's not downright dumb, she herself isn't a genius. Yuri is quick to pick things up, but sometimes she makes decisions and choices that have absolutely no relation to the problem at hand. (For example, honestly thinking that she would be able to get Angel to take them to God if they all acted like spazzoid freaks for a day. Or thinking that Kanade was really an Angel because she didn't smile. Or expecting the "boss" at the bottom of the Guild during her first decent was going to be a dragon when it turned out to be Shiina, who she attacked with a flashlight.)
✯Obstinate. Once Yuri has decided something, she views this as a fact until someone can prove her wrong and even then she probably won't admit it until it makes you look like a moron instead of her.

Physical Weakness
✯Susceptible to pain. Even though her body heals, she still has to feel the pain of every injury she receives. Though she has a high pain tolerance, if she gets stabbed in the chest she's still going down for a while.
✯She's short. Not really a weakness unless she has to reach high cabinets though.
✯She won't protect herself if it would risk someone else's safety.

Emotional Weakness
✯Her siblings. Yuri felt deep regret about being unable to save her siblings, to the point that the only way for her to move on from the afterlife was to save everyone in the SSS (shooting all the computers to death, which she accepts as "defeating god" as well).
✯Her friends. Again, because of the murder of her siblings, Yuri will experience bouts of guilt, regret, and feelings of inadequacy whenever she's unable to protect those around her. This is a double-edged sword though, since this weakness is also what causes her to work harder and become stronger.
✯Her own death. We never find out how Yuri died, but her traumas with the murder of her family are extremely tragic and she's able to talk about them to the point that a number of the members (even ones she doesn't have a close relationship with like Iwasawa) have knowledge of what happened to her. She clearly doesn't have trouble talking about this. However, when asked about her own death she tenses and changes the subject, and the only thing we do know is that it wasn't suicide. This is obviously something in her life that she didn't want to talk about and while she doesn't have regrets directly linked to it, it could have been a very traumatic death.
