Applications

PLEASE USE THE NEW APPLICATION POST!

Please be aware that apps are only open from the 1st (12:00 AM Eastern Standard Time) to the 7th (11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time) of any given month. This means that as of 12:01 AM, the 1st, apps are open and that as of 11:59 PM the 7th, they are closed. If you post an application after that time, it will be deleted and ignored. Please pay attention to the application times and the status at the top of this page!

PLEASE READ THE RULES BEFORE APPLYING! Especially the last few, as they establish what characters can or cannot be accepted.

If you want to canon-update your character, you must re-apply for said character with the relevant changes (history, personality, strengths and weaknesses, etc). For re-apps and canon updates, samples must be rewritten; we do not accept recycled samples.

The old application posts can be found on Livejournal, using the Applications tag.

Here's the application. Copy and paste the text box info into a comment and fill it out. You must apply with the following format, otherwise your application will not be accepted.

FANDOM CHARACTERS

Confused? HERE is a quick explanation of how to fill out our fandom applications.

ORIGINAL CHARACTERS

Confused? HERE is a quick explanation of how to fill out our OC applications.

You may link to threads on the [community profile] trainingwings community for your first person samples, as long as the thread in question is no older than three months. The thread or post must still have at least ten lines of dialog from your character to be considered.

HERE is a word-counting tool to check your 3rd person samples.

If a mod does not accept your app right away, please be patient. We all have our own personal and busy lives to attend to, and there might be a period of time when it might take us days to get to the applications. There is also the possibility that we do not know the canon you are applying for, and we need time to study it. So please be patient and we will work as fast as we can to get you an answer. If it has been a week with no word, please feel free to message Akai (guynophobic), Masamune (masamune3x), or Emily (spark memories) on AIM, or email them at their respective email addresses found in the [community profile] luceti profile page.

Note: Applications are not always processed in the order they are received, due to the way they are divvied up between the moderators. If your application has been skipped, do not fret. Another mod will be getting to it soon enough. Additionally, you now have ONE WEEK to complete revision requests and Q&A's. You will be reminded of this deadline three days before it's up. After that week has passed, your application will no longer be considered for the current round. We apologize, but please be patient with us!

A note for applying here on Dreamwidth: Due to the character count limit being higher on DW, it might be tempting to toss the whole thing in one comment and leave it. However, we ask that you split the application up into at least two comments- the first containing your player information and (if you want) basic character info, the rest in another comment (or more, if you wish). This is to avoid having entire applications spanning the page and making it huge.

Splitting them up will make it easier for mods to process the applications. Thank you!

Strengths:
Blue will be bring three of her pokemon with her including,
Blastoise (Blasty)
Wiggytuff
Ditto (Ditty)
.

Physical;
Just as it was said in her personality, Blue is not a strength fighter. While she does has good stamina due to the work that the Mask of Ice put her though; she's not a fighter without her pokemon. Nonetheless, she does use her looks in several of her tactics. Blue is busty and hot, and that's one of her greatest physical strengths oddly enough. In the fight with Sabrina, she uses her well-attributed chest to make her jealous.

Mental/Emotional
This is where almost all of Blue's strength comes from. Over and over again she proves that she's tactical during the series. One example would be when she tricked Red by acting cute and innocent. Blue is mentally strong due to the torment that the Mask of Ice put her though, she's seen the darker side of life. Even more so after making friends with the older Pokedex Holders, who helped her with any emotional issues that the Mask of Ice had given her. Such as her fear of birds. Blue is also brave and determined, just as any of the other Pokedex Holders. She also has a strong sense of duty, explaining this to her parents on why their reunion would have to be held off a bit longer.

It's practically impossible to outsmart Blue, more than often she's one step ahead of the game. Such as with Lorelei when she had Ditty be her arm, which helped when she got stuck to Sabrina. Also, as mentioned by Professor Oak, Blue is the least likely out of the three original Kanto holders not to give things away to enemies. Also, due to being raised by the Mask of Ice, she's very street-smart and actually fairly techno wise. She revised the Sliph scopes by herself and lived almost on her own for a bit.

Weaknesses:
Physical;
It comes back to haunt Blue that she's not a fighter by herself. She have combat experience, so she can't win a fight with blunt strength. Nope, that just won't work for her. This was shown during the fight with Lorelei where she got knocked out and Sabrina was forced to drag her around. Other than her looks, physically Blue is just as strong as an advantage teenage girl give a bit due to the work that she was put though while under the 'care' of Mask of Ice. While she can sneak around, Blue is never shown to be flexible or anything of the sort, once again average.

mental/emotional;
Family. Family is Blue's weakpoint. She passes into a stress-coma when her parents disappear from view, leaving her out for a few days. Also with Silver and Giovanni, Blue falls into tears. Talking about family is one way to twist Blue's heart. It's one of the few things that break her strong mental barrier. She's also reckless when it comes to family, running into a trap while she usually smart enough not too. Her emotions for anyone that she cares about is a weakness of hers, perhaps not as much as family though. Unless you're Silver. The Mask of Ice is also a bit of a double-edged sword, while it's made her stronger it's still something that she's rather not bring up. It's not a easy subject for her.

Samples

First Person:
Training Wings Link, if this isn't enough lemme know~♥

Third Person: Blue had been in Luceti for about a week, and it hadn't been all that bad. Most of the other Pokedex Holders were here, which was pleasant. Money wasn't a issue here, everything was free. She still wished that she had time to spend with her parents, like she was supposed too, before getting tossed into another adventure. Well, this was what being a Pokedex Holder meant. Though; she didn't recall world traveling to be in the description. Still, she'd apparently been here before. While she didn't remember this at all, it meant that she shouldn't worry about returning home. After all, she'd done it before.

One of the main problems that she had was that only three of her pokemon were with her. Glancing behind her at her Blastoise, Ditto, and Wiggytuff, she frowned. The three pokemon that she had the longest. Having Ditty with her was a huge plus, if what everyone had told her about this place was right she might need the disguise ability that came with Ditty. She'd been with Wiggytuff for so long that it would seem odd without it, and Blasty was important to her in a different way. Turning away, she let out a silent sigh.

Why was she letting her thoughts wonder like this again, she'd gone out to shop not contemplate Luceti for the umpteenth time. Glancing around the store, she let her eyes rest on a pair of blue high heels. Pretty high heels at that. Hey, if thing were free in Luceti it'd be a shame not to exploit that. At least it meant that she wouldn't have to rip-off others. No, she hadn't done that for a long time; not since she had too. Picking up the shoes up, she placed them in the bag that she had brought with her. Shoe-shopping was so much better when things were free. Maybe Luceti wasn't going to be all that bad, it didn't seem that others were exactly dreading it here. Though there was the fact that after awhile if she didn't keep things interesting she was probably going to get bored.

Blue let out a small sigh before allowing a small smirk to cross her face. Well, she'd have to keep things interesting than. Probably check out more of these missions as well, after all there were plenty of things back home that she wanted. This was certainly going to be a interesting adventure. Glancing back at her bag, she let her mind drift back to shopping. Maybe it was time to check if they had any cute earrings. Letting out a small hum, she continued to lead her Pokemon around the store.

Pocket Monsters!

Pokemon:
Blastoise: As a water pokemon, Blastoise has the strengths of one. Being resist to fire, ice and steel-typed moves. Blastoise has high defence as a pokemon, which makes sense as the strong cannons on it's back. Blasty is both tough and heavy, which makes it great in battle. Blue has also taught Blasty to be more stealthy than a normal Blastoise, such as using it's bubbles to carry over sound and directions to others. Blasty also comes with the ability that it's power increases as it's health wears down. Other than that, Blasty is a major powerhouse on Blue's team. Being her toughest pokemon without a doubt. Blue also taught him to without it's body into it's shell and blast water out of his cannon to propel both of them up or forward. It doesn't matter much now that it's a big Blastoise, but he can also quickly adept to fighting larger pokemon than it.

On the other hand, unless in water Blasty can't move very fast. His weight doesn't allow him too. He's also weak against electricity and grass.

Blasty has a jolly nature, but even so he tends to be tricky like Blue. Much of his personality was adapted from Blue. Just as any of Blue's pokemon, he tries his best and cares a lot about his trainer. The first time that Blasty was seen was as a Warturtle, he most likely got along with Blue very quickly despite being taken from Professor Oak's lab. Nor did he ever seen to hold a grudge over it. Rather he took a liking to the way of life that Blue lived, though didn't mind when that was changed.

Wiggytuff: As a normal pokemon, Wiggytuff doesn't have any strengths over other pokemon types. Wiggytuff isn't much of a fighting pokemon in general. In the series, Wiggytuff is used as Blue's transportation system as it can inflate itself. Which, of course, is very useful. Wiggy also has the advantage that it can use it's cute charm ability, having a 30% chance of attracting someone of the opposite sex.

Though normal pokemon don't have any strengths, they do have a few weaknesses. Such as fighting-type moves. Alas, once again, Wiggy isn't much of a fighting pokemon. She's been with Blue since the start, having been with her since the Mask of Ice. Wiggy went through the same torment that Blue went through during that time. Being Blue's first pokemon, they have an important bond. Wiggy also wasn't evolved until the end of the FRLG Arc, being a Jiggypuff for most the story. She also didn't have a nickname like the rest of the pokemon at first, having gained it over time as both she and Blue got over the fear that the Mask of Ice had placed on them.

However Wiggy does fight, and can be fairly powerful when she does. Being able to hold her own during the fight with Professor Oak during the Pokemon League. She also has a lax nature, though tends to have on Blue's tricky personality at times.

Ditto: Ditto is transforming pokemon, something Blue uses all the time. That said, Ditto's strength is it's transforming power. Ditty can transform into anything that it needs too, including other people. It's also good at maintaining this. Ditty is able to hide it's self well during the series, often being used as a trick of Blue's. Ditto also has the limber ability, meaning that it cannot be paralyzed.

Ditto is shown to real care about Blue, having transformed into a part of Red's bag in worry. It also tends to happily follow any orders that Blue wishes of it, be it turn into a umbrella or an arm. It's the pokemon that Blue most has out because of it's abilities. Ditty is really smart, relaying the information of Blue's fight with Deoxy through it's body. Ditty also has a rash nature, which may explain why it somewhat enjoys messing around with people like Blue does.

and the rest

Strengths
Physical:
Blue is in great physical shape for a girl of her age, gaining both great stamina and pain endurance during her time with the Mask of Ice. She's extremely tough in that regard. She makes good recover time, pushing herself right back into action after waking up from a grief-induced coma and working to master the Hydro Cannon not long later. She knows how much to work herself in order to ensure that she lasts, unless it's an occasion where she needs to push herself. Such as when freeing Mewtwo by using all of her pokemon. Despite not having any fighting capabilities, she can still hold her own. She doesn't have any special powers either, but she tends to use her body as her advantage when she can. Blue won't deny that her body is flattering, and if the situation calls for it she will use it. Whether it be to get into a area, trick someone when she has to, or inspire jealousy within someone else. Also while Blue is never shown to be the flexible type, she can still sneak around without being seen. She just isn't the type to win with just strength.

Mental/Emotion:
This is where almost all of Blue's strength comes from. Over and over again she proves that she's tactical during the series. One example would be when she tricked Red by acting cute and innocent appealing to his boyhood. Blue is also mentally strong due to the torment that the Mask of Ice put her though, she's seen the darker side of life. Even more so after making friends with the older Pokedex Holders, who helped her with any emotional issues that the Mask of Ice had given her. Such as her fear of birds. She's a brave and determined girl, just as any of the other Pokedex Holders. That along with a strong sense of duty, though she was in tears she was able to explain her duty as a Pokedex Holder to her parents and be strong despite knowing how much she wanted to reunite with them.

It's practically impossible to outsmart Blue, more than often she's one step ahead of the game. Such as with Lorelei when she had Ditty be her arm, which helped when she got stuck to Sabrina. She also has slippery fingers, it's so easy for her to steal from unsuspecting people. Even items such as the Hydro Cannon bracelet from Bianca. Also, as mentioned by Professor Oak, Blue is the least likely out of the three original Kanto holders not to give things away to enemies. If she has an advantage than she's not going to let it be known until it's time, this helps her a lot during her fighting. Due to being raised by the Mask of Ice, she's very street-smart and actually fairly techno wise. She revised the Sliph scopes by herself and lived almost on her own for a bit. Blue also has a grand amount of intelligence in various subjects. One of the most important ones would be her knowledge in evolving pokemon, hence why she was nicknamed The Evolver by Professor Oak. Though she did hold off evolving her pokemon in order to give the appearance of having weaker unevolved pokemon (other than Blastoise), until she needed to in order to support Blastoise.

Weaknesses

Physical;
Blue is just a average girl, she doesn't have any super powers to help her. Just her pokemon. Even with her good stamina and pain endurance she can still be knocked out. She doesn't have any special abilities that can keep her from getting injured unless she planned for it beforehand. She's not the type that can win a full-force battle or fight, she's not like Green or Red. She's much more of a mental fighter. Most of her skills rely on observing the situation and being a quick thinker in the matter. She may be able to take on a bit more pain and pushing than a normal girl of her age and size, but not by too much. Without pokemon, Blue doesn't have much combat experience. This comes from spending her youth escaping from tough situations instead of staying and fighting unless on rare occasion.

Mental/Emotional:
Out of the original three, Blue finds herself to be the most emotional. The barrier that she once had up to protect herself isn't up any longer, so she doesn't try to hide how she feels any more. Instead she lets it out. Especially in situations that mean a lot to her such as when she gained the pokedex from Professor Oak or when Silver cried over Giovanni. Blue cares and wants to protect her family and those precious to her almost to a fault. When she fails to help her parents, she passes out into a grief-coma. From both grief of losing her parents again and that she was just about to reunite with them. Due to the fact that much of Blue's power comes from her ability to understand and get ahead of the situation, when she can't do that it gets troublesome. Such as when she was fighting Deoxys. These types of engagements also cause her to be a bit more reckless than she should, such as rushing forward into a trap at a hologram of her parents. Otherwise Blue is quite mentally sound, it being a tough task to outsmart her. It'd be much easier to out power her.
