If a mod does not accept your app right away, please be patient. We all have our own personal and busy lives to attend to, and there might be a period of time when it might take us days to get to the applications. There is also the possibility that we do not know the canon you are applying for, and we need time to study it. So please be patient and we will work as fast as we can to get you an answer. If it has been a week with no word, please feel free to message Akai (guynophobic), Masamune (masamune3x), or Emily (spark memories) on AIM, or email them at their respective email addresses found in the

luceti profile page.

Note: Applications are not always processed in the order they are received, due to the way they are divvied up between the moderators. If your application has been skipped, do not fret. Another mod will be getting to it soon enough. Additionally, you now have ONE WEEK to complete revision requests and Q&A's. You will be reminded of this deadline three days before it's up. After that week has passed, your application will no longer be considered for the current round. We apologize, but please be patient with us!

A note for applying here on Dreamwidth: Due to the character count limit being higher on DW, it might be tempting to toss the whole thing in one comment and leave it. However, we ask that you split the application up into at least two comments- the first containing your player information and (if you want) basic character info, the rest in another comment (or more, if you wish). This is to avoid having entire applications spanning the page and making it huge.

Splitting them up will make it easier for mods to process the applications. Thank you!

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

Strengths:

Physical: As a Humanoid, Sophie is more durable than ordinary human beings. She possesses sophisticated self-regeneration systems and both offensive and defensive photonic artes. Her offensive skills are martial-arts based, and she prefers gauntlets or claws; her defensive artes are healing and buffing skills. Her abilities were created specifically to combat Lambda’s Nova monsters, and as such only she and people who have been influenced by her power are able to fight them.

Mental: Sophie is extremely tough mentally; initially, her amnesia made her practically fearless. Everything was new to her and she had little sense of danger, even from things like falling off cliffs. As she developed, she gained more common sense, but she still remains generally calm and collected even in the face of monsters and tough situations. Although for a time she expressed a fear of dying, after an event caused her to sicken and start losing her sight, she became calmer and more accepting of her fate. She told Asbel that it was all right if she couldn’t see, because she could still remember the faces of her friends and was happy when they were around. Later on after the problem was resolved and her memories of Fodra returned, she begins pushing the others to allow her to sacrifice herself to destroy Lambda, thinking it her duty and willing to go through with it even though it would mean her death.

Emotional: Emotionally, Sophie is still child-like. At several points she expresses that she doesn’t understand concepts like “sadness.” However, because of this it is extremely easy to make her happy; just being with her friends and experiencing new things together, good and bad, bring her joy. She rarely seems to acknowledge when other people make mistakes and always thinks the best of the people she comes to care about.

Weaknesses:

Physical: Although she is an extremely powerful fighter, Sophie has a small stature and this means that larger enemies have an innate advantage. Her B-artes like First Aid have a casting time, during which she can be interrupted if the enemy attacks her. Additionally, her natural regeneration abilities as a humanoid can be disrupted if she takes massive damage. In these cases she has a fail-safe system – she disintegrates into component fragments, and enters the bodies of other beings until it’s safe for her to re-form. This is what happened after her encounter with Lambda when Asbel and the others were children; she remained inside Asbel, Cheria, Hubert and Richard for seven years, until she was finally awakened again. This process can also (and did for a time) result in her losing memories if all the necessary particles aren’t present. Partway through the game, a malfunction in this system almost cost her her life as she began to dissolve while the reconstruction system was not working.

Mental: Sophie is still extremely young mentally, and doesn't have much experience in the world. Although she possesses some ancient scientific knowledge from Fodra now that her Humanoid memories are restored, most things on Ephinea, and about human culture in general, are new to her. She has to ask a lot of questions to understand what she needs to know.

Emotional: Emotions are Sophie's main weak point, as she still doesn't understand them as fully as a human does. She feels them, but doesn't always know how to express herself in words, and not knowing can push her into a cycle of worry and doubt.

Additionally, as she matures, Sophie has tendencies towards small bouts of immaturity and stubbornness. For instance, she is a picky eater, despite Cheria's attempts to cure it. She is not always rational and will jump on things she finds to be fun.
