If a mod does not accept your app right away, please be patient. We all have our own personal and busy lives to attend to, and there might be a period of time when it might take us days to get to the applications. There is also the possibility that we do not know the canon you are applying for, and we need time to study it. So please be patient and we will work as fast as we can to get you an answer. Note: Applications are not always processed in the order they are received, due to the way they are divvied up between the moderators. If your application has been skipped, do not fret. Another mod will be getting to it soon enough. Additionally, you now have ONE WEEK to complete revision requests and Q&A's. You will be reminded of this deadline three days before it's up. After that week has passed, your application will no longer be considered for the current round. We apologize, but please be patient with us!

A note for applying here on Dreamwidth: Due to the character count limit being higher on DW, it might be tempting to toss the whole thing in one comment and leave it. However, we ask that you split the application up into at least two comments- the first containing your player information and (if you want) basic character info, the rest in another comment (or more, if you wish). This is to avoid having entire applications spanning the page and making it huge.

Splitting them up will make it easier for mods to process the applications. Thank you!

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

Personality: Despite being a creature that is considered to be a monster by many in her own world, Cheyenne is far from a monster in her behavior. She speaks very formally to people she doesn't know very well. The more she is around someone, the more relaxed and casual her speech patterns may become, generally because she'll start picking up on the way they talk. She doesn't see anything wrong with the way she talks, since she doesn't understand how it makes her sound cold to other people. After all, to her, she is only being polite!

Unlike most illusionists, Cheyenne has the ability to feel and somewhat understand emotions. Over the years, she has managed to pick up on the easiest to identify: happy, sad, angry, and scared. However, even those simple emotions are difficult for her to comprehend. If she is at a loss, she may ask out-right what a person is feeling. This is more out of curiosity and for the sake of holding a conversation than it is out of any actual concern for that person.

That's not to say that she isn't capable of caring about others, of course. Another notable trait of Cheyenne's is her possessiveness. She doesn't make friends often, but when she does, she becomes very attached to them. She's spent much of her life being hated and feared by the elemen she fed upon, so finding someone who doesn't flinch at the sight of her doesn't happen every day. Jealousy isn't an emotion she deals with very often, but if someone she's close to starts paying more attention to someone else when they're around her, she'd recognize the feeling. In fact, she'd probably tell the offending parties outright that she is jealous and that she is sorry for it. However, just because she cares about someone doesn't mean she has qualms about feeding off of them. While she may feel more concern for their well-being after the fact, when she needs to feed, she'll never turn down an offer from someone just because they are a friend.

Given the opportunity, Cheyenne would prefer to never show her own limited emotions. However, since she knows others aren't capable of reading how a person is feeling by looking at their soul, she's learned to force herself to show how she's feeling on her face. If she's in a good mood, she'll smile once or twice so others around her can tell she's happy. At the same time, if she's angry or in a bad mood, she'll probably appear to over-react to whoever sees her, since she feels she has to show that she's angry. In actuality, should Cheyenne ever become completely enraged, she'd probably be too angry to bother showing her emotions and would appear completely blank (although for sake of having more than 15 |: icons, her expressions are a bit more exaggerated).

Finally, a major part of who Cheyenne is involves guilt. On one hand, she doesn't find any pleasure in bringing harm to people. On the other, Cheyenne knows she must feed on them if she wants to keep on living. Usually she rationalizes that if she doesn't feed now, she'll lose her mind and go on a rampage, possibly killing dozens of people as opposed to injuring one. The guilt of what she has to do to stay alive is what keeps her peaceful. Should she ever lose her sense of guilt, she'd go back to being a monster who feeds constantly.
