Applications
PLEASE USE THE NEW APPLICATION POST!
Please be aware that apps are only open from the 1st (12:00 AM Eastern Standard Time) to the 7th (11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time) of any given month. This means that as of 12:01 AM, the 1st, apps are open and that as of 11:59 PM the 7th, they are closed. If you post an application after that time, it will be deleted and ignored. Please pay attention to the application times and the status at the top of this page!
PLEASE READ THE RULES BEFORE APPLYING! Especially the last few, as they establish what characters can or cannot be accepted.
If you want to canon-update your character, you must re-apply for said character with the relevant changes (history, personality, strengths and weaknesses, etc). For re-apps and canon updates, samples must be rewritten; we do not accept recycled samples.
The old application posts can be found on Livejournal, using the Applications tag.
Here's the application. Copy and paste the text box info into a comment and fill it out. You must apply with the following format, otherwise your application will not be accepted.

If a mod does not accept your app right away, please be patient. We all have our own personal and busy lives to attend to, and there might be a period of time when it might take us days to get to the applications. There is also the possibility that we do not know the canon you are applying for, and we need time to study it. So please be patient and we will work as fast as we can to get you an answer. If it has been a week with no word, please feel free to message Akai (guynophobic), Masamune (masamune3x), or Emily (spark memories) on AIM, or email them at their respective email addresses found in the

Note: Applications are not always processed in the order they are received, due to the way they are divvied up between the moderators. If your application has been skipped, do not fret. Another mod will be getting to it soon enough. Additionally, you now have ONE WEEK to complete revision requests and Q&A's. You will be reminded of this deadline three days before it's up. After that week has passed, your application will no longer be considered for the current round. We apologize, but please be patient with us!
A note for applying here on Dreamwidth: Due to the character count limit being higher on DW, it might be tempting to toss the whole thing in one comment and leave it. However, we ask that you split the application up into at least two comments- the first containing your player information and (if you want) basic character info, the rest in another comment (or more, if you wish). This is to avoid having entire applications spanning the page and making it huge.
Splitting them up will make it easier for mods to process the applications. Thank you!
Van Hohenheim | Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood | VI
First Person:
I've...never been fond of writing down my thoughts, especially within a journal. It all seems so pointless in my opinion. Writing aimlessly like this is a tad insulting to the creative process, isn't it? I don't have single thing worthwhile to say nevertheless write. That's probably why my own sons aren't too fond of talking to me.
Not that I can blame them much, I'm pretty much a stranger in their eyes. Despite them sharing the same blood that courses through my veins, the three us are like strangers. We're related, yes, but my sons hesitate refer to me as "father"; Edward more so than Alphonse.
...Sometimes I wonder what possessed to leave Trisha and the boys. I was so busy searching for something I couldn't find, that I didn't even realize I lost in the process. All those years...and I still couldn't find a way. So now, I'm stuck in this strange land without a clue as to what to say to them. I don't even know how to be a father. Unlike alchemy, there's no manual or guidelines to follow. I wish there were but there aren't. Being an alchemist is one thing but being a "father" is another.
I honestly don't know what to do with myself. Edward is so adamant about joining the next "draft". My son has it in his head that the more his fights, the better the chances he could get Alphonse's body back. He believes that the Malnosso will reward him for his self-sacrifice and I'm terrified that they won't.
I nearly lost one son already, so I don't think I could stand losing the other. That's why maybe...I...I should go instead. Edward shouldn't have to do this anymore.
Third Person:
No matter how many times he might look at them, Hohenheim always found himself at a loss for words. He couldn't imagine before what it could possibly feel like to be a bird but with these new feathery appendages poking out of his back, he now had a vague idea. The golden feathers were rough and somewhat angular in design, each feather perfectly aligned with the other. They looked like the wings of a miniature eagle, somewhat tinted with brown and white. It was an adjustment for him to get used to the silly wings on his back but Hohenheim chose to make due with it. However his open-mindedness didn't change the fact that the old alchemist always found himself staring at other people's wings, especially his sons'. Edward's wings were as loud as his coat, bright red with a somewhat black undertone. They were slightly smaller than his own but large enough to be distracting. His son looked like a deranged robin, except he didn't exactly give off the sweetness of one.
It somewhat humored Hohenheim that his son would be wandering about with such appendages, especially since he was almost certain that Edward preferred "bat wings". Turning his attention from Edward to Alphonse, Hohenheim couldn't help but sigh. His youngest son was still encased in armor and his wings represented that clearly. They were gray, a gunmetal gray. The little appendages almost look metallic in his opinion, almost as if the wings were transmuted onto the back of Alphonse's armored body for the sake of amusement. Staring at his son for a moment or two, Hohenheim's thoughts began to wander a bit. Had his son still possessed his human form, would he still have such dull looking wings? He doubted it but what factors come into play when deciding the colors of one's wings? Despite the triviality of such a topic, Hohenheim thought extensively about it.
At first, he assumed that an individual's wings were based on their hair color. There were many people n Luceti who had wings that matched their hair, him as example along with countless others. However in regards to his sons, this theory is incorrect. Edward has blond hair, almost golden, and yet his wings were so red. He knew his son didn't possess a single gene for red hair, so why did he have red wings? "Maybe..." He accidentally muttered allowed. "Maybe this has something to do with a person's individuality..." His sudden comment awarded him with a few stares, one such stare coming from the glaring golden eyes that matched his own.
Blinking his eyes in confusion, Hohenheim quickly apologized to Edward for his sudden outburst. The moody teen was so kind enough to lend him a moment of his time for once and he starts thinking of all this needless garbage. "S-Sorry." He replied a tad sheepishly. "Please continue." His absentmindedness did win a scowl from his son, but Edward chose to ignore him and continue with his rantings. Hohenheim could barely keep up with what the boy was saying, nevertheless comprehend all this information in less than a hour or two. He nodded wearily as Edward continued with his raving, fighting back his yawns as his mind drifted again.
