Powers/Abilities: Amagasa is a tsukumogami, which in his world’s terms means he’s essentially a lich. Amagasa has two bodies -- a humonoid form which is a representation of his spirit, and the original paper umbrella which is his “true” body. His human form is basically spiritual energy formed together to give itself a solid shape, and as such he doesn’t have an actual biology -- he has no real organs and mimics bodily functions based on what he knows about that. His “blood” is not actual blood, for example, just bits of energy that look like it. Since his humanoid body has no biology to it, he cannot be affected by physical ailments nor does he have to worry about physical needs.
Since he has two bodies, Amagasa cannot truly die if only his humanoid body is destroyed; he will respawn within a week. Similarly, injuries to this body will also regenerate slowly, with minor injuries healing over completely within a few hours to a more severe injuries taking three days or longer. On the other hand, destroying his umbrella will kill him instantly. For purposes of Luceti, deaths caused by removing the wings on his humanoid body or destroying his umbrella will count as “true” deaths and incur Death Penalties, while deaths via other methods will have him simply respawning a week or more later. If he doesn’t get his umbrella destroyed first in the meantime.
As a youkai he is overall somewhat stronger, faster and hardier than the average human, though compared to other supernatural creatures he’s actually on the weaker end of the scale. He also has two other abilities, the first of them being that as long as he’s holding onto his umbrella, it will be impervious to most forms of damage, barring fire, electricity and techniques specifically designed to harm spiritual creatures like demons and youkai. He can create rain that has a soothing, calming effect to those within its presence, however prolonged exposure will induce lethargy, melancholy and possibly depression. Under the powercap the area of the rain will be highly localized, at largest taking up an area equivalent to the village square.
While this largely does not apply to Luceti, Amagasa can be “contracted” by a human, a process which basically entails the contractee acting a supplementary energy tank to him so that he can maintain his form in the physical realm while still having access to his supernatural abilities, in exchange for providing services to them. Obviously there will be no such need for this in Luceti since there is no spirit realm and physical realm like in his world, and it is highly unlikely he will ever get contracted here.
Strengths: Most of what’s been mentioned in his abilities are strengths, so this will be a bit short!
Physically, he’s...an umbrella, and therefore technically not quite a living being. Though he has a humanoid body, he has no need for those nice things like eating or breathing to “live”, unlike actual fleshy people.
Amagasa is actually rather intelligent and surprisingly knowledgeable, by virtue of technically being an old man in terms of age. Admittedly, some of the stuff he knows is a little trivial. He’s also pretty open-minded and incredibly non-judgmental, since he is pretty mild-mannered and curious about the world.
He’s emotionally stable and...well, as mentioned earlier, pretty mellow! Amagasa is calm, if melancholic, and isn’t the type to flip out unless you give a damn good reason to, which you’ll be hardpressed to find.
Weaknesses: He’s an umbrella. When his umbrella is not in his hands, it’s just an ordinary umbrella made out of wood and oil-coated paper, which means that it is easy to destroy (and thus kill him). Even disregarding that, any damage to his umbrella will be permanently reflected on his humanoid body, unless said damage can be repaired. Although he’s somewhat stronger than an average human, a well-trained one can easily match him, and most other supernatural beings will likely surpass his abilities as tsukumogami really aren’t very powerful in general. Though he has an innate respawn for deaths that would not incur a penalty, it’s still inconvenient and leaves him vulnerable since his spirit will remained confined to his umbrella, unable to do much else.
He also has zero depth perception, since he only has one eye and wouldn’t even know what having depth perception would be like. Similarly, his dulled sense of pain and heat and cold can actually work against him, since it doesn’t necessarily mean he’s not getting hurt from whatever’s causing them.
Mentally, Amagasa is old-fashioned and out-of-touch with the modern world! He tries to learn, god bless him, but the fact remains that he isn’t used to it and will remained confused by it for a while yet. And although he’s polite, he hasn’t had a lot of experience socializing, so he can sometimes be tactless or offensive without realizing it. He can also be rather naive thanks to said lack of actual experience.
Emotionally, Amagasa is very bad at emoting, with his general expression range being lineface. He’s not used to having a face, and since he also doesn’t tend to feel strongly there isn’t exactly much to express -- it can be hard trying to guess his feelings because of this. He doesn’t actually understand intense negative feelings like anger and hate, although he tries his best to be able to relate, since he hasn’t experienced something negative enough to induce that sort of feeling. If he were to somehow ever actually experience them for himself he probably wouldn’t be sure how to handle them and just repress them instead, which can be a bad thing.
