Name: Traveler Fandom: Journey (PS3) Gender: N/A Age: Unknown, 1 Day in Luceti as it will be born new here Time Period: End of Sunken Temple Level before heading to the mountain Wing Color: Dark red History: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Journey_%282012_video_game%29 A barebones explanation of the general plot. The traveler wakes in a desert and must journey to a mountain seen far in the distance. Along the way, it learns of the people that came before it, the way the world once was, and how it fell to a sand-covered ruin.
Depicted via hidden murals and in visions seen at the end of each level, the traveler learns that the source of this world’s power came from glowing symbols released from the earth via the mountain. These symbols are the gift of life to all creatures, both animate and not. It created the cloth creatures, the flowers and grasses and then, it created people. The people created a society, harnessing the power of the symbols to create grand cities, but soon became greedy and turned to war. The progenitors of the traveler’s supposed species created great stone dragons powered by trapping the cloth creatures for flight. They took these dragons into battle and destroyed each other, extinguishing their race. The people died and the sand covered their cities, burying them beneath the dunes, leaving only stone markers with their identifying runes etched into it scattered everywhere across the desert.
After traveling through the world and uncovering the truth, the traveler must face the snow-covered mountain and go toward the light at the top. After struggling through increasingly harsh climates, the traveler falls in the snow on the side of the mountain. Another vision of the Elders, huge white figures, restores the traveler’s powers and it flies to the top of the mountain and disappears into the white light that awaits it at the top. The end of the game shows a shooting star coming from the mountain, traversing the areas the traveler journeyed through and eventually lands back at the original site of the traveler’s awakening. The traveler is reborn with a new identifying rune and more markings on its cloak, proving it has made the journey before and it is given the choice to journey again toward the mountain and continue the cycle.
This traveler has been through the world many, many times. It has uncovered all of the glowing symbols and the murals that tell it of the world’s past, and it has obtained the white cloak – a symbol of its experience. It will be taken from its world after experiencing the Sunken Temple, before beginning its mountain ascent.
