Personality:
Terra has a strong personality anchored in loyalty, tenacity and competitiveness. He has grown up in the Land of Departure, alongside his two best friends, Aqua and Ventus, and though he tends to display a stoic disposition, his heart is soft and warm. His best friends ( and to a lesser extent his master, Eraqus ) are his strongest driving force, and he will do anything to protect them -- but Terra is often distracted by his own selfishness and desire to succeed, and this desire often blinds him to truths and makes him easy to manipulate.

The darkness within Terra's heart is strong, and it draws villainous people to him like moths to a flame, and with the proper leverage, these people are able to shape him to their liking. His greatest wish in life is to become a Keyblade Master, and when he fails his Mark of Mastery test, Terra begins to doubt himself, making him easy prey to those who would seek to manipulate him - mainly Xehanort, an elderly Keyblade Master who is greatly revered and experienced. He plays on Terra's doubt and bolsters his ego, nurturing the darkness in his heart with false kindness, leading Terra to believe that with his help, Terra will become the Master that he so desperately wishes to be.

Having no reason to doubt such an esteemed master, Terra bought the lies that Xehanort fed him, and slowly his heart was turned to darkness. When Terra discovered that Aqua had been sent by Eraqus to spy on him, he began even to doubt his friends, which put great pressure on his heart - his love and loyalty towards them was being challenged by his desire for power and his dream of becoming a Master, and Terra was at a loss. Though he treasures his friends, and his connection to them, very deeply, he is also moody and defensive, and when their friendship begins to deteriorate, Terra is too proud to think that he could be at fault for any of it.

But his heart, regardless of darkness, is in the right place. His resolve is steely, and despite however unsure he may feel about his friends, he is still fiercely protective of them -- so much so that when he finds Master Eraqus lifting his keyblade against Ventus, he flies into a defensive rage and takes up arms against his own master, the man he thought of as his father. This protective streak is often what causes Terra to veer away from the path of Light and into the Darkness, and this applies even to those he doesn't know very well, or people he has only just met - he will protect anyone that he feels is in need, without needing a reason to do so. If he needs Darkness to protect others, then so be it; their safety is paramount to his own state of being. Though Terra seems cool and collected ( a front he puts up even around his closest friends ), he is very easy to rile, especially where Ventus and Aqua are concerned - any threat to them will send him into a blind rage, unleashing the Darkness in his heart.

But Terra isn't so proud that he cannot see the error of his ways. When Eraqus falls, when Terra learns that he has been manipulated by Xehanort, he is crushed by guilt and swears that he will never turn against his loved ones again. Though, long before this point, Terra began questioning his ideals and motivations - thanks to Xehanort's meddling, Terra doubted himself from the very beginning. But, eventually, he learns that his use of the Darkness was wrong, and he vows that he will do whatever is necessary to set things right.

So overall, Terra isn't a very complicated guy. He's very easily to manipulate, and though he has a lot of self confidence, it's a simple matter to prey upon his sense of doubt. He's blindly trusting and, on top of that, an awful judge of character. I mean really, he meets Maleficent of all people, Maleficent, she has evil horns on her head, and takes everything that she says completely at face value. And not just Maleficent - Captain Hook, Hades, Master Xehanort - all of these very obviously shady characters make easy prey of Terra. He's very naive in this way, and gullible to a certain extent, because despite the darkness in his heart he really is a good guy. In fact, it's his positive traits that are what inevitably lead him astray, because as the saying goes, the road to hell is paved by good intentions. It's his loyalty, his fierce protectiveness of his friends that ultimately opens his heart to darkness.

Strengths:

Physical:As a keyblade wielder, Terra has an assortment of abilities, both physical and magical, but his skills lie mostly in brute strength. He has a wide assortment of physical commands and counters, and though he can also use many magic spells, he isn't as proficient with them. He's slower, but Terra hits hard, using his well-built physique to deal staggering hits to his adversaries. He's quick to block, and can immediately counterattack with a variety of skills. He can summon his keyblade at any time and under any circumstance, conjuring it from thin air.

Terra is also able to summon up a suit of armor which protects him not only from physical harm, but from outside dangers. For instance, he wears the suit to protect himself when traveling between worlds, through the 'ether', and in outer space type environments. This suit not only enables him to breathe in otherwise unbreathable atmospheres, it also protects him from darkness. Therefore, it serves a secondary purpose as a sort of HAZMAT suit, under the correct circumstances. He wears a piece of armor at his left shoulder, which he can strike to summon his armor at any time. His keyblade can also transform into an air glider, which he can use to travel virtually anywhere - both on worlds, and between them.

Mental/Emotional: Physical skills aside, Terra is also able to 'sense' darkness and light in others, as most keyblade wielders can. He's attuned to the forces and balance of light and dark, and is able to see it reflected in others.

Most of Terra's mental strength lies in his determination and calm, grounded nature. He's calm and collected, persistent. It takes a great deal for him to lose his head, and his temper generally only flares when his friends are in danger. He's also very confident in his abilities even despite Xehanort's doubtful whispers.

Weaknesses:

Physical: Terra is very strong, but he's very slow. He's tall and bulky and when pitted against a quick opponent he will tire very easily. Getting around his defenses can be quite easy if you're fast enough. Sure enough, he packs a ridiculously hard punch when he lands a hit, but he's relatively easy to dodge. Also his magical skills are mediocre at best, and though he has an array of spells at his disposal he's not incredibly proficient with them.

Mental/Emotional: Well these are easy! He's incredibly easy to manipulate, and despite his confidence it doesn't take much to make him doubt himself. His ego is quick to bruise, and good lord his intuition when it comes to judging others is just nonexistent. He's overly trusting and will help almost anyone with almost anything almost without question, and this gets him into trouble quite often considering how many villains zero in on this particular weakness and go to town on him.

Generally it's Terra's emotional strengths that are his greatest weaknesses. His loyalty, his fierce protectiveness and devotion to his friends -- all of these are easily turned around on him and used against him to open his heart to darkness, again and again. He's naive to a fault, and also kind of emotionally stunted. Terra is so focused on training that he doesn't really spend too much time interacting with anyone aside from Aqua and Ventus, and he has a tendency to tunnel-vision on things like competition, and gaining strength and power, which he all but obsesses over. Terra's also very moody, and prone to sullen silences and quiet angsting.

First Person: Q & A please!

Third Person:

Two weeks. Two weeks he had been here now, and still he wasn't sure how to settle in. Aqua and Ventus were here, which would have made things a bit easier if he ..

.. if he hadn't been avoiding them. And avoiding them was no easy task. It wasn't that he didn't want to see them or talk to them or spend time with them - on the contrary, having them here beside him was the biggest blessing he could have asked for - but it was difficult to talk to them. To look into their eyes and feel the disappointment that he imagines is there.

They don't know. They don't know about Xehanort, about what happened in the Keyblade Graveyard, about the x-blade, or, or..

They don't know how weak he had been, how weak he had become, how Xehanort had played him like a fiddle, used him so easily, manipulated him from the get-go. They didn't know how very eagerly he had played into Xehanort's hands. They didn't know that, back home, Terra had nothing to return to but an empty shell. How could he tell them? How could he ever explain what had happened? Keeping it a secret felt like lying somehow, but the idea of revealing it filled him with panic and disgrace and a cold, strange fear that closed around him like a fist. So he had opted instead to keep away from them, to distract them, to wriggle away when the conversation grew too tight or pointed. Of course they'd picked it up by now - they were his best friends after all, the two people in the world who knew him better than anyone, of course they'd know when something wasn't sitting right with him.

Sooner or later he'd have to tell them.

Terra sighed, his broad shoulders slumping, the chilly March breeze ruffling his dark hair as he stared down at the his hands in his lap. The ground felt cold beneath him but he had been sitting here for so long now that he hardly felt it anymore. Soon enough he would need to head back, he'd have to see their smiling faces and feel the guilt and shame ripping away at him from the inside. And these wings, these stupid wings mocking him with their color, teasing him every time he'd catch a glimpse of them in a mirror or a window, reflected in a puddle or a lake - he hated them. His weakness displayed for all the world to see.

Scowling, Terra shoved himself up from the grass and brushed off his pants, raising his eyes once more to the vast sky above him before turning for home.
