Name: Susanne fon Fabre Fandom: Tales of the Abyss Gender: Female Age: 44 Time Period: Wing Color: Dull rust-color History: Game overview
As with all inhabitants of Auldrant, Susanne's place in life was literally written in stone several thousand years ago. While not much about her early life is detailed, we do know she was born ND1974 as Susanne Kimlasca-Lanvaldear, half-sister to King Ingobert the Sixth. Her marriage to prominent noble Crimson Herzog fon Fabre would have been predetermined and (if both consented) they may have married as early as ND1990.
The brightest spot in Susanne's life would come when their son, the prophesied Scion of Lorelei, was born on Remday, Lorelei-Decan 48 ND2000. In accordance with the Score they named him Luke - ancient Ispanian for "Light of the Sacred Flame," and betrothed him to his cousin, Princess Natalia. This happiness continued uninterrupted until Luke suddenly vanished from the safety of their home when he was ten. An unspecified time after (though likely before his eleventh birthday), he was found at the Fabre's abandoned vacation home of Choral Castle and returned to Baticul.
Yet their joyful reunion was overshadowed by a crushing blow to the family. Traumatized by the event, Luke had suffered complete memory loss and was reduced to an infantile state, unable to even speak or stand. Though her son may have lost all former traces of who he had been, Susanne was just relieved to have Luke returned to her.
What Susanne and everyone else didn't know was that this Luke was in reality a replica and the boy she'd given birth to, the real Luke, remained captive in Daath for the next seven years under the name of Asch as a pawn in Van's plans.
Susanne's world would again be upturned when Tear infiltrated the Fabre manor and accidentally caused a hyperresonance between herself and Luke, sending them both into enemy territory. The shock of this news struck Susanne's already weakened state and rendered her bedridden until she could see for herself that Luke was all right.
After the lowering of the Outer Lands, Susanne sensed her son was unhappy by himself in the manor and advised him to seek out their butler Ramdas to learn the whereabouts of his friends, with the condition that Luke would return home.
Susanne would finally have the chance to meet Asch again when Luke insists they talk at the manor and then gives them time alone, where Susanne would cry as she embraced her eldest son for the first time in seven years.
Once the party's efforts to rid Auldrant of the miasma were successful, Susanne proudly watched as Luke was named the Light of Lanvaldear and awarded the title Viscount Fabre for services rendered to the kingdom of Kimlasca.
Susanne is last seen crying over the grave of her sons, with her husband trying to console her.
