Applications
Status: CLOSED
A SPECIAL NOTE, PLEASE READ: Due to Luceti entering the end of its plot, officially (DETAILS HERE), applications are open all the time. If we receive a sudden inexplicable spike in apps this might change, but that is unexpected.
Previously played characters can return for the endgame using the basic application at the bottom of the post. We will allow canon-updates of characters using the same application, just label the app appropriately.
PLEASE READ THE RULES BEFORE APPLYING! Especially the last few, as they establish what characters can or cannot be accepted.
The old application posts can be found on Livejournal, using the Applications tag.
Here's the application. Copy and paste the text box info into a comment and fill it out. You must apply with the following format, otherwise your application will not be accepted.

HERE is a word-counting tool to check your 3rd person samples.
If a mod does not accept your app right away, please be patient. We all have our own personal and busy lives to attend to, and there might be a period of time when it might take us days to get to the applications. There is also the possibility that we do not know the canon you are applying for, and we need time to study it. So please be patient and we will work as fast as we can to get you an answer. If it has been a week with no word, please feel free to message Akai (guynophobic) or Kath (so moe you died) on AIM, or email them at their respective email addresses found in the

Note: Applications are not always processed in the order they are received, due to the way they are divvied up between the moderators. If your application has been skipped, do not fret. Another mod will be getting to it soon enough. Additionally, you now have ONE WEEK to complete revision requests and Q&A's. You will be reminded of this deadline three days before it's up. After that week has passed, your application will no longer be considered for the current round. We apologize, but please be patient with us!
A note for applying here on Dreamwidth: Due to the character count limit being higher on DW, it might be tempting to toss the whole thing in one comment and leave it. However, we ask that you split the application up into at least two comments- the first containing your player information and (if you want) basic character info, the rest in another comment (or more, if you wish). This is to avoid having entire applications spanning the page and making it huge.
Splitting them up will make it easier for mods to process the applications. Thank you!
RETURNING CHARACTER APPLICATIONS:
As noted above, if you are either:
a) a previous/current player bringing back a character played here before
b) a current player with a current character wanting to canon-update
Here is the short-form application you can use.
RULES FOR RETURNING CHARACTERS:
1) The character must have been played in Luceti BY YOU at some time in the past.
2) The character must not currently be played by anyone else.
3) The application must be accepted by a mod as per usual before the character can ICly return to the game.
If you have questions about this app (it's very much a beta right now, this is the first time we've done this!) please use the contact methods above.

Current Characters at Luceti: Ginko (
[2/2]
Name: Silver
Canon: Pokémon Heart Gold
Gender: Male
Age: Approx. 14
Wing Color: Bright red (like his hair)
Canon Point: Shortly after losing in the Goldenrod Tunnel.
Canon Point Explanation: By this point, Silver is smack dab in the middle of his character development. This allows for him to have personal conflict on top of being dropped into Luceti, giving me something else to mess with on slower months and allowing for more fodder for CR.
History: Silver's Bulbapedia Page. Definitely running with Silver being Giovanni's son and growing up in an environment that reflects that.
Personality: Silver is an ambitious but extremely aggressive teenager. Unlike most "rival" characters, Silver takes things extremely seriously save for a few spouts of dim humor. The ambitions he has are all very serious ones, mostly revolving around his own strength and crushing others' weaknesses, especially Team Rocket. Still, Silver did not start his journey with any particular wisdom or real knowledge of how to be with people or Pokémon without being cruel. His drive was simple at the time: become the strongest, without relying on anyone else to do so (he did not want to become like his father, the leader of Team Rocket). He's honestly a truly hateful person, and hates the weak, Team Rocket, and anything that inspires weakness with all of his heart and it's clear in everything he says and does that he's cruel, angry and mean-spirited.
He thinks, for the longest time, that he has things completely figured out. He had a solid concept of what strength was, and what it meant to be weak. Weakness is fighting in numbers, ganging up on others, running away from fights, lying and otherwise cowardly behavior, not just how many losses you have under your belt as a trainer. And weakness was such an egregious crime that deserved every ounce of rage, disgust and vitriol he could ever muster. Because he had a solid concept of what he felt was strength and weakness, he was extremely overconfident and haughty of his abilities to the point that he rarely considered that he was the problem and displaced the blame on everyone and everything around him. He would blame his losses on his Pokémon, threatening to find stronger Pokémon to replace them and often finding excuses for his shortcomings when losing to the protagonist.
He was extremely aggressive to others both verbally and physically. He scorns with harsh words and is a bully for certain, and there were plenty of occasions where he took that to the physical level by throwing around the protagonist in anger. His impatience knows no bounds, probably due to a lack of discipline as a child or just plain lack of life experience. He rushes everywhere even if it's with determination and a solid destination in mind, often clumsily leaving loose ends where he sprints off or just plain dropping stuff. He can attempt patience, such as when he tails the protagonist to potentially intercept Lance, but his patience only lasts so long before he has to act on something (usually by battling with the protagonist, if not simply deriding him/her).
His weird ideals of weakness and strength also have spun off to create weirder ideals of what's right and what's wrong. In addition to the hate for weakness, he also oddly enough argues against Team Rocket harassing other people. It may be in part because of his opinion that ganging up on others is weak and petty, despite it contradicting his desire to wipe out those too weak to stand up for themselves. Silver himself likely doesn't fully understand the reasoning behind this logic beyond it making sense to him, or simply his strong bias against Team Rocket in particular. If it's Team Rocket, it has to be bad behavior, and if someone is better than Team Rocket then they better not stoop to Rocket behaviors (hence his episode of anger where he rips the Team Rocket uniform off of the protagonist).
After the losses to Lance and the protagonist, his prior self is still in play... but he realizes that he really may be approaching things incorrectly. He realizes how cruel he's been, even if he doubts that he could (or should) change to become like the protagonist. He does not lose his deep, heartfelt desire to become the world's strongest trainer, and that's the fire that fuels his path forward more than anything else.
He still has a severe lacking in regards to empathy for his Pokémon. One doesn't learn how to be a loving friend overnight, after all. But he's far from the complete disinterest and concept that the Pokémon fighting for him were just tools. After the losses, he is in a state of considering the bond and affection he could potentially share with his Pokémon, and is completely unfamiliar with the ideal methods of expression. He may be slowly realizing the error of his ways, or at least considering them, but he is still selfish. He still would not consider giving up the Pokémon he stole/returning them to where they belong, because he is growing attached to them - for now it is a desire to keep his solid team, but in the future it is definitely his deep bond with them that keeps him from ever returning any of them aside from a single attempt.
He used to only be concerned with proving his strength and worth to himself, but Lance became someone of immense strength (definitely rivaling his father) and the first person Silver listened to in terms of advice (why take advice from those weaker than you?) and his eagerness to rechallenge Lance is beginning to well up. Lance became a hurdle, a true and clear goal for Silver to surpass - if he could just get past the protagonist, of course. But the point is that Silver is a young kid, with a lot to prove - he has little else driving him. He does genuinely have a dream, and he aspires to fulfill it someday through hard work and maybe some different form of understanding.
Strengths (Provide canon examples and include special powers/abilities as necessary. You may combine sections as needed, but remember to always be thorough.)
⇒ Sneaky (stole pokemon and badges)
⇒ Fit (at least enough to throw kids his age around)
⇒ Hardy (trains with Pokémon on a very regular schedule)
Mental:
⇒ Organized (has a well-balanced team, keeps a tight schedule)
⇒ Focused (doesn't lose sight of goals)
⇒ Strategic enough to be a decent challenge, especially at higher levels
Emotional:
⇒ He does have a strangely decent moral code, despite it being centered around strength vs weakness...
⇒ A lot of determination and willpower
Weaknesses ( Provide canon examples and include special powers/abilities as necessary. You may combine sections as needed, but remember to always be thorough.)
⇒ He's a young teenager, so throwing down in an actual fight is going to be a mixed bag depending on the size of his opponent
⇒ More importantly, he doesn't train himself, he trains his Pokémon - he can't fight so much as scrap
Mental:
⇒ Inattentive to "unimportant" detail (dropping his trainer card, dismissing criticism, etc)
⇒ Clearly not exposed to normal living at a young age
Emotional:
⇒ Thinks very poorly of the weak and of weakness
⇒ Has a very difficult time bonding and connecting to others
⇒ Impatient
⇒ Hateful
Anything else?: Pokémon!
SAMPLES (ALL SAMPLES MUST BE SET IN THE LUCETIVERSE)
First Person: Training Wings Post
Third Person: Luceti was a lot more overwhelming to Silver than he initially thought it would be.
He had thought, before, that things weren't that different. So he can't return home, and he can't fight real trainers on the road for experience. There was still a simulator to help him train, and really, wasn't that all the better? He could battle without hearing the disappointment and arguments and preachiness that every single trainer seemed to have. He was down a few party members, but he could still fight. It was a different world, but what real difference did that have for a kid that had already long abandoned his home, and was traveling anyway? He was tough, he'd tough it out.
But the thing that began to really strike him after a while was something that really drove him nuts. He didn't realize, before, how much he would miss his other Pokémon. He didn't realize how much he counted on actually being able to see that weakling... no, his rival... on a regular basis. He didn't realize how conflicted he felt when he found his father, standing in Luceti as though waiting for him, looking at him with disappointment. When did he get so attached?
Then again, wasn't that a good thing? That's what the Dragon Master had said to him; friendship and an emotional bond was what would help him understand and strengthen his Pokémon and himself. But he couldn't accept something like that, when he felt so ready to crumble into all of the confusing and frustrating emotions that this place gave him.
So... what was he going to do, now?

AS AN ADDITIONAL NOTE, Luceti is in the middle of a lengthy plot-based event, the information for which can be found HERE and HERE. The short version is that all characters have been thrown backwards in time, and the village is in a very different state than what is contained in our regular information pages. A log is ongoing HERE if you wish to use it for an intro/mingle there, although of course you're free to make a separate journal entry.
Welcome to the game!
