Reward Claim

This post is for claiming rewards from the Malnosso from points earned from doing missions or in other ways. All you have to do is fill out the form below.

Please note that for unique missions or other special events, we'll ask you to provide a link that proves that you participated in that mission or event. These usually give out a large amount of points, so we just want to ensure your character earned them!

One of the perks of going on missions is that the Malnosso award points for them. These points are not quite the currency of Luceti, but they do allow characters to access items they normally wouldn’t be able to find in Luceti. The Malnosso are even willing to offer Shifts that can cause a variety of effects for the right price. These prices are negotiable and unless explicitly stated below, will require talking to a mod to not only get it approved, but for it to be given a price.

Points are earned via missions. Although recurring missions happen all the time, these only offer a small amount of points. Hardly enough to really get much aside from the small things. The real payoff comes from unique missions. These are important enough that the Malnosso will offer quite a bit to have a job completed. Points may also be offered at other times, sometimes via events. In rarer cases, an NPC may just outright give points to characters.

Do note that things that are described as ‘mundane’ are things that would be in the hands of a normal person in our world. Explicitly non-magical. Military-grade weapons would not be considered mundane, but a standard handgun would be.

REWARD SCALE

Low Level Rewards - 10 points
These are your most basic of rewards. items of these nature are typically going to be things you’d walk into a department store to pick up. Think mass-produced merchandise. For example, characters can spend these points on a stack of DVDs, video games, jewelry, music CDs, and so on. Objects of this variety will always be mundane. Often these are items that sporadically appear in Luceti anyway.

Regained Items (Mundane) - 15 points
Sometimes, items they have from home don’t follow them to Luceti. In general, these are items they owned at a point in their life, but no longer own as of their canon points. The Malnosso are not limited by piddling things like timelines, so its within their power to reach back (or forward) in time to obtain these items. For this price level, these items are specifically going to be mundane.

Mid Level Rewards - 25 points
Again, these are mundane sorts of rewards. Items of this nature would include things like electronics and other appliances. Examples of this would be laptops, televisions, game consoles, and instruments. Items that might be considered common in other worlds are possible too. For instance, someone might use this to claim PokeBalls, potions, and ammunition.

Though it isn’t specified how much of each thing you would claim, its best to think of this in terms of five uses. For instance, five pokeballs or five potions or five clips for a pistol. Canon-specific items can only be ordered by people from that world.

High Level Rewards - 40 points
Items of this nature would include rarer and more expensive items. For instance this might include hot tubs, a set of power tools, scientific equipment, or high quality weapons. Also this includes animals. These animals are specifically of the mundane variety. So for instance, a character could request a horse or a regular Chocobo, but not a Pokemon or a gold Chocobo. Canon-specific items can be requested within reason. For instance, a set of armor from the game’s canon that the character never picked up before.

Regained Items (Other) - 50+ points
These are all other regained items of a non-mundane variety. Depending on how powerful or significant this item is, it may be rejected. For instance, it would be permissible to request a more powerful sword from their canon, but it would be another thing to request an extremely powerful relic that they possessed for a period of time. The more powerful and rarer the item is, the higher the price may be. It’s usually a good idea to speak to a mod beforehand for this kind of item, especially if it represents a significant boost to your character.

Building Shifts - 80 points
  • Altering a building to include a new addition. For instance this might include adding a new floor, or a bathroom, or an elevator, or things of this nature.
  • Adjusting an existing building that was built by Lucetians to receive the same auto-repair ability that Malnosso-constructed buildings do. This can also be used for anything that might be considered ‘building-sized’, such as a sailing ship.

  • Personal Shift - 100+ points
For the ambitious, characters can submit themselves to permanent Shifts. These come with certain stipulations and drawbacks. Among them is that they will be unable to hide from Shift Hunters. However, some may find it worth it. Examples include:

  • Memory regains. If a player reapped a character without their memories, they can use a Shift to regain these memories. However, this applies ONLY to Luceti memories. If the character comes from an earlier canon point than before, they would not regain any memories past their canon point.
  • Power augmentation. The Malnosso are experimenting with augmenting the abilities of their subjects. These represent minor boosts to their own abilities. A normal mundane human being might use this to increase their strength, stamina, and speed. Others might use this to boost their magic or other ability. In general, think of this as a 50% boost. So a powered character would be at 75% of their canon abilities in Luceti, but 150% while out on missions or drafts.
  • Body adjustment. The Malnosso can restore the body to its proper state. Cursed characters might use this to return to their original form. A canon updated character might use this to return to their ‘proper age’. Other options are available, but you should contact a mod to see what’s acceptable or not. For instance, we’re less likely to let a child character turn themselves into an adult, but we may be willing to let an older character ‘shave off’ a few years.

  • Do note that although CJ has mentioned personal Shifts before, it is not officially listed among the various rewards offered. This service is generally spread by word of mouth and by making inquiries.
  • These all include a bonus High Level Reward.

    Other Exclusive Items

    Anti-Shifting Bracelet - 40 points
  • This bracelet will prevent any Shifts currently in effect from affecting the owner. A prototype designed for the MSF, it was originally designed to protect from cultists. These knock-offs come in handy for Lucetians as a way to prevent being affected by an experiment. The bracelet features a small light that blinks red if a Shift (an experiment) is currently in effect. When worn, it will protect the user for up to two weeks. Once removed or it runs out of power, the bracelet is useless.
  • Includes bonus Mid Level Reward.

  • Barcode Adhesive - 40 points
  • A special adhesive that can be used to cover up the barcode on the back of someone’s neck. This effectively makes the character untrackable, especially by the droids. This can prevent kidnappings or being forced to go on a draft. These adhesives have diminishing results with each use. The first time has a 80% chance of succeeding, the second time a 40% chance, and a 20% chance. Each use lasts up to 24 hours.
  • (Note: The percentages are determined by the player. They work only if the player wants them to work. Otherwise they can fail if the player wants them to fail.)
  • Includes bonus Mid Level Reward

  • Power-Block Collar - 60 points
  • When worn, this collar will render the person wearing it completely mundane by applying the same sort of Shift used in the tunnels on that particular individual. It will, however, make allowances for anything that is required for that person to be able to survive. However, this collar may also have detrimental effects as well. Typically these are represented by a loss of control over their powers when the collar is removed. In effect, think of it as stepping on a running hose and then releasing it. While the collar is effective, it is also dangerous.
  • Includes bonus High Level Reward.

  • Mission Points Earning Scale and Claiming Rewards:
Recurring missions are primarily used for hiatuses. For this reason, they give less points than plot-related mission points. These recurring missions have some guidelines:

  • You earn one point per day spent on the mission.
  • You can only earn up to fifteen days worth of points for a total of 15 points. If your character is on a mission for three weeks, they still won’t earn more than 15 points. In effect, your character won’t be able to start earning points again until they’ve spent another month back in Luceti. Points earned on the old scale won’t be taken away or lost.
  • You can double the earnings if you and another player send your characters on a mission and thread it out. So if you go on a three day mission and have a thread for it, you’d earn 6 points instead of 3.
  • In order to claim these points when registering for a mission, we ask that you comment to the mission information on the [personal profile] rpmanager journal and use that as a link.

Unique missions will typically offer 40 points at once. In order to ‘claim’ these points when registering for a reward, we require that you link a thread from the mission log to show that you participated in the mission.

If you are using points from a unique mission or event, link a thread proving you participated. For regular mission, please link to your mission tracking data. If you are pooling points from multiple places, then specify how much is being used from which one.

    Two more things:

    1. Regarding the sailor mission: that was initially counted as double points because it was going to be threaded out with Astrid, but due to her drop it only got four comments in so I'm unsure if it counts for effort made or if I need to cut it back to four points.

    2. I'd also like to get a Shift put on the slurpee machine, so that it self-stocks itself when empty, but am unsure how much that would cost/if I could retroactively use the bonus reward that would've come with the anti-shifting bracelet he got months ago to cover it.
