You may link to threads on the
trainingwings community for your first person samples, as long as the thread in question is no older than three months. The thread or post must still have at least ten lines of dialog from your character to be considered. HERE is a word-counting tool to check your 3rd person samples.

Personality: The first thing you will notice about Shannon is she's a timid girl. At times, she stutters at her words while trying to convey her true feelings and thoughts which make her appear awkward socially. She is also known a clumsy girl who gets embarrassed very easily and tends not to perform her best if the tension in the room is suffocating. This only serves for her to make more mistakes especially if she thinks she is at fault (she gets all jumpy at Natsuhi scolding her in result for her lack of knowledge), but even with that, she is very benevolent to others. At some point, Kumasawa told stories to her, stories about Rokkenjima island's second master, Beatrice the Golden Witch and how she plays pranks among the servants and should be respected by all. Being the naïve girl she was, she believed in those stories. Even there are times where she may appear unknowledgeable. This is evident in Legend of the Golden Witch & Turn of the Golden Witch with Shannon being unable to answer what was in the two-colored sauce and the flavor of tea she was serving.
Shannon performs her tasks slowly to really plow through whatever she needed to do mindfully, but this habit of hers has also caused some scolding (she is also known to have daydreamed while on the job). However, she tries her best as she wants to become stronger and more reliable even though her true self is slow at processing and doing things. Even though she gets scolded, she enjoys her work life.
Although, even with her kind personality, she can be selfish to get what she wants, also to be assertive when wanting a proper answer (asking Kanon about Jessica). Even to the point in crossing duels with her 'brother' Kanon ( who in reality is just another part of her as shown in Dawn of the Golden Witch) to kill him as being one of her obstacles. She views Kanon like a little brother and wants him to pursue his happy life with Jessica despite the truth between them (Touched upon in Turn of the Golden Witch when giving Kanon the broach); she deeply treasures Kanon as he was a gift from Beatrice.
With Jessica, we get to see Shannon's more casual and girly side when she's relaxed. They have attended school together and they are the closest of age in the island. Jessica teases Shannon mostly for her meek nature which is shown in Requiem of the Golden Witch, when we see Jessica asking if Shannon had a boyfriend. Their usual talks include dating, boys, and school life.
In Turn of the Golden Witch, we learn more about how Shannon views herself as furniture. As furniture she was taught not to wish anything more than they already had; not even that of love. This is one of her main insecurities. Even though she works to the bone, she is convinced that everything will be alright even when she is screaming inside. An example is when she wakes up from a dream that makes her question if waiting for Battler (to rescue her from Rokkenjima) was worth it, in Requiem of the Golden Witch. Deep down though, she wants to become human.
She is afraid of being looked down upon as noted in Turn of the Golden Witch with Eva. Eva calls her uneducated, incompetent, unqualified, and uncultured as she walks past her after talking with George and Jessica. This crushes her self confidence which causes her to wonder why she had a heart to deal with in the first place and that as furniture, she should not have one.
From each episode, Shannon grows stronger as being one of the characters that goes through a lot of development. She goes from a person that only refers to herself as furniture (Turn of the Golden Witch) to gladly declaring that she is human and no one can tell her otherwise (Dawn of the Golden Witch). Even though she seems to be not at all that strong, she'll try to protect all those dear to her; to be a sturdy shield like her ability. She will even risk her life to protect them, this is demonstrated in Alliance of the Golden Witch when she and Kanon help some of the family get out of this jail cell, but dies shortly after they are out in the open. She does not want to see others suffer and will keep her own inner turmoil to herself to prevent everyone from worrying over her and to maintain her servant status.
The maid desires to quit being an Ushiromiya servant and start a new life (having served there for 10 years). She believes that she could start a new life with Battler. He invited her to his place if she ever decided to quit; that way they could talk about mystery novels as much as they wanted. Though, as she continues to wait for Battler, she wonders if her determination to be with him was enough as each family conference went by. Later on, this role shifts to George as Battler does not show up like she wished.
The family gatherings every year at Rokkenjima are times that she looks forward to every year; the only time she can act her own age with others besides with just Jessica, despite their difference in rank.
Strengths:
Physical: Shannon isn’t really much of a fighter, her moves in the Ougon Musou fighting games are as follows: Bowing apologetically, hitting the enemy with a rug whacker, cleaning the floor, running over the character with a cart, tripping and having dishes thrown, commanding seagulls to hit the enemy, summoning thunder by throwing the sacred mirror and using her barrier to protect herself and thwart the enemy by letting them run into it or crash down on them. As shown, these are not very damageable moves thus shows that she is not a physical fighter.
In Dawn of the Golden Witch, Shannon uses her barrier to trap Maria in order to progress to the next trial in the Duel of Lovers. This is due to the fact that Shannon, Kanon, and Beatrice have to duel in order to have their buds of love blossom, but this is only for the last remaining contestant. In the end it was down to Shannon and Kanon which led to Shannon outsmarting Kanon with him using his last bullet, but missing her.
Shannon is loyal to the Ushiromiya family, having served there since she was ten years old, she was chosen as one of the only people other than the family to bare the one winged eagle on her leg. As stated in the personality she will protect all those dear to her like when she shielded Kanon during the fight with the Stakes of Purgatory in Banquet of the Golden Witch and led some of the Ushiromiya members to safety with Kanon in Alliance of the Golden Witch.
Mental/Emotional: Magic is one of the many things that Shannon believes in. She convinced herself that Battler will come back for her on a white horse as he said six years ago and patiently awaited him as stated in Requiem of the Golden Witch. Shannon believed that magic could help her through her troubles and brought George to her when Battler did not return. It was in Dawn of the Golden Witch that she declared that if she won against Kanon and Beatrice, she would renounce her maid status and live with George whether the family will agree to their marriage or not. This was what caused her resolve to shift from being furniture to human.
Weaknesses:
Physical: Shannon is shown to be the clumsy and timid type of girl. She is shown to make more mistakes than usual whenever there is a heavy air in the room. This is shown in various EPs as the family talks about the inheritance between Kinzo and his children and occasionally she would drop a tableware and not know the brand of the tea that she would be serving. As stated before she uses a barrier as a shield to protect, however it does not last very long. Shannon has to use it at the right moment or else it will dissipate and leave her out of options during a battle. This is shown during her battle with Beatrice in Turn of the Golden Witch while she was trying to save George from the witch which ended in both being staked to death.
Mental/Emotional: Furniture. That very word describes it. Ever since she was young, she was taught that she was furniture and that she was nothing more, not even human. It was all she abided to, until she had taken the forbidden drug known as talking to the Ushiromiya cousins as said in her monologue in Turn of the Golden Witch. Talking to them made her act like her own age and thus she wanted more. She wanted to become human, however her insecurities from being furniture stopped her from trying to reach her goal for a time.
In Requiem of the Golden Witch, she had believed that Battler would be the one to take her off the island so she vowed to tell him that she would quit being a maid after thinking for a year. Though the awaited time arose and he wasn’t to be seen until six years later. Though three of those was spent longing and waiting for Battler. When his stepmom arrived in the third year and did not hand her a letter to her from Battler, she instantly broke. His stepmom told everyone that he wrote to them, but obviously this did not mean her. This lead to her thinking that he had forgotten all about her and their times at the secret location were not as important to him as it was to her.
Now when she’s with George, she is insecure about having a family with him since she does not have a body fit for love which meant she could not bare his children. She feared that he would push her away once he found out especially since he talks about how much children they will have as shown in Legend of the Golden Witch.

W-where am I? This is not mansion nor is it Rokkenjima, I-I. ...Hm?
[ There laid a mysterious journal, recording every word spoken. She walked toward it with a confused face. ]
What is this? ….I-Is it recording?
[ A second goes by before she continues ]
A-Ah. Hello there, my apologies if I had woken you all up. I haven’t been here for very long, but I’d like to ask some questions. [ a deep breath ] D-Does anyone know of the Ushiromiya family? I was wondering to see if I can get into contact to them, just to make sure they’re safe. I’m quite worried about them due to my misfortune before coming here.
U-um I hope this is recording correctly, it would be silly otherwise... auu. Please, let me know you are all alright. [ an unsure smile. ]
Is there anything I should know about this place before I venture out into it? Any precautions I should take?

Third Person:
The last thing Shannon could remember was the sounds of hurried footsteps and rugged breathing in a dark tunnel. She and her brother, Kanon, were protecting some of the members of the Ushiromiya family from harm, but as they were neared the clearing, Kanon was shot and in the process, let go of her hand.
Wait... Fell to his death? What happened after that? Why did everything go blank?
It then hit her--she was shot.
So it was her fate to die in this game, she accepted that. She died trying to protect the family just as she vowed when she decided to bare the one-winged eagle. Tears started forming from her blue eyes as she thought of their struggle to fight off the Siestas and the goats. Did everyone manage to escape safely to the mansion? She wiped the tears from her eyes; this was not the time to grieve, but it was time to search for those that she tried to rescue at that time. Rena did not know the results of that night and she obviously did not want to presume the worst. It was better to think that they were still alive or somewhere near her. The latter seemed welcoming to her.
Could this place be the awaited Golden Land she had only but dreamed about?
No, that can’t be it. Then why would she feel this pain? Where was everyone? In the Golden Land, everyone was to be reunited and treated as equals. If this was not the Golden Land, then where was this place?
The young girl slowly rolled to the side, but winced at the pain searing through her shoulder. “W-What was that?” She questioned, trying to peer over it to no avail. Her eyes wandered around the room and then finally settled on the window with “I hope you are all, alright. It would be frustrating to be notified that our attempts were futile.”
